Wordless Wednesday

We went to the beach on Monday. I thought this picture was hilarious, I love the look on her face and it totally captures her newness to walking, especially in new terrain like sand!

Wordful Wednesday

This picture was taken at the joint birthday party we threw for the mommy group Addison and I belong to. Since all the babies turned 1 around the same time, we hired a photographer and took individual pics then group cake smash pics after. Too bad after meant that it was almost 3'oclock and none of the babies had slept. Here's the first three of 9 that started the crying spree that quickly took over all 9 of the babies shortly after. Notice Addison is in the back reaching for me.... I felt so bad for her, but it was also so funny...

Wordful Wednesday

This is the preview picture that I got from the photographer that came to our mommy group's big baby birthday party that we had a couple weeks ago where all the babies celebrated their 1st birthday's together. I love that she is doing what she loves most, eating balloons (as I am hyperventillating in the background waiting for it to explode in her face) and she was soo tired by this point that her usual over the top excitable character wasn't really showing through so I love that she looks happy in this picture. The only thing I don't like is that she is sitting on her leg and it looks to me like she is an amputee. Isn't that like rule#1 as a photographer not to amputate your clients? Anyway, hopefully when I get the rest of the pictures there are some better ones, but this is pretty cute! We also got all the babies together for a group shot.... it did not go well, I am sure she sent us the only picture where not every single baby was crying (and in the background were 9 moms singing the more we get together off key and totally desperate to make the babies smile). Does it get any cuter than this? I don't think so.

Almost Wordless Wednesday: Fun with a slinky

Addison's bedroom at the cottage is right outside the kitchen. While I was doing dishes on Saturday, I looked over to see this: how cute is this child?

Weekend at the cottage

We got to open our cottage over the weekend, and also have some fun! Last year taking Addison to the cottage was more of a hassle than a relaxing weekend. Once we factored in lugging all her stuff up, and added in the fact that we had to keep her out of the sun, and I was breastfeeding and needed to be available to her 24/7, it really didn't leave a lot of room for boat rides and hanging out on the dock swimming and getting some sun. We did try putting Addie's feet in the sand once (Grandpa did barge over loads of sand to make her her own beach afterall!) but that didn't go over too well either.

This year was a completely different story! Addison can wear sunscreen now, and LOVED exploring everything that our cottage and Grandma and Grandpa's cottages have to offer. Addison's highlights were the giant stuffed musky... for some reason she loved that thing and always convinced someone to get her over to touch its teeth. She also enjoyed climbing the stairs and hanging out on the deck. We brought up a pool for her since we knew the lake water would be a little too cold still, and her new princess boat (thank you very much Aunt Bon!) and she really enjoyed playing in the water. Here's some highlights of Addison's saturday afternoon at the cottage!


At first she wasn't too sure of the pool and clung to daddy while she got used to the very cool 80 degree water. She is used to about 90 at her YMCA swim lessons...

And after daddy left, she had lots of hugs for aunt Nikki

Addison eventually got used to the water temperature and enjoyed splashing as big as she could!

That 4 tooth smile..... melts me every time

And after all that swimming, a little snack... mmmm pool shovel...
